Safety Specialist

POSITION: Safety Specialist

LOCATION: Two Rivers, Wisconsin

SUMMARY: Will be responsible for evaluating and maintaining a safe working environment by conducting workplace inspections, identifying potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, investigating accidents, providing safety training to employees, and recommending corrective actions to prevent future incidents, all while advising management on safety matters and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of Safety regulations: Thorough understanding of OSHA standards and other relevant safety laws.

Analytical skills: Ability to identify potential hazards and assess risk effectively.

Communication skills: Clear and concise communication to educate employees and present findings to management.

Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze situations, identify root causes, and develop solutions to prevent future incidents.

Training and presentation skills: Delivering engaging safety training sessions.

Leadership skills: Ability to influence behavior and promote a safety culture within the workplace.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Must have valid Wisconsin driver's license and be willing to travel to jobsites within the state of Wisconsin.

All duties must be performed according to Vinton Construction Company’s “SAFETY FIRST” policy.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma is required.

Experience in accident prevention and safety inspection work.

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred but not required.

Bachelor’s / associate degree in occupational safety health, industrial hygiene, or a related field is preferred but not required.
